The Pali word Metta is from an ancient Indian language meaning loving-kindness, or universal benevolence for all beings.
The Metta Method was created over 15 years ago by Dr. Barbara Wright, a Buddhist student and practitioner of 30 years. Through her work as a speech pathologist and clinical psychologist, Dr. Wright synthesized a complex paradigm that accelerates the Metta Method process integrating three levels of intelligence, mind, heart and intuition (primal energy); demonstrating how each supports and challenges the other.
This new methodology has been shared throughout Asia and the United States. Dr. Wright’s and Brittany Mason, Metta Coach, director and coordinator current goal along is to cultivate a cadre of talented and dedicated Metta Coaches to share this method for wholesome problem solving.
The Metta Method fundamental origin is in ancient wisdom, combined with contemporary sciences; neurology, biology, chemistry, psychology; plus mystery of the human experience.
The Foundation is the Metta Map, the Formulas and the Equations.
When these elements are combined they generate an understanding of Metta (loving kindness, universal benevolence) and how to integrate Metta more deeply into your daily life. This method creates the only method that addresses all levels of human processing: visual, auditory, tactile, muscular, cellular memory, body posture, tonality, cognition, cadence, and vibration energy into an integrative process. So many wonderful teachers have told us how we need to expand our lives, change our perspective,
Now we have the how, The Metta. Map allows you to create the path for changes within your personal dynamic!
The main reason the Metta Method is growing in popularity is:
(1) It is practical in the modern world
(2) It can be learned in a relatively short period of time
(3) Metta is not limited to age, gender, culture and mental or physical challenges
